New Developer Contributions Plan being developed for Byron Shire
REAL ESTATE NEWS
Work is underway on a new Developer Contributions Plan for Byron Shire following community workshops in late February.
Byron Shire Council’s current Developer Contributions Plan was created in 2012 and updated in 2017.
Christopher Soulsby, Council’s Manager Assets and Major Projects, said the plan will underpin the provision of some community facilities, services and infrastructure over the next 15 years.
“The Developer Contributions Plan outlines the fees paid by developers through their development applications and identifies the projects that these funds can support,” Mr Soulsby said.
“It also details projects like future parks, shared paths, roads and hall upgrades that have been identified by Council via its masterplans, place plans and other strategic documents.”
Feedback from the community workshops and online engagement will now be used by consultants to inform the new draft Developer Contributions Plan.
