Casuarina Beachfront Home Sells Commission Free

A Casuarina home has been sold commission free for $5 million as part of a charity auction to raise funds for a rare childhood cancer.
The owners of the beachfront property at 15 Daybreak Boulevard, Casuarina won a charity auction last year where they bid $65,000 for Witheriff Group Director Nick Witheriff to sell their home without a commission.
The money raised was donated to the Hundred4Harper charity, which raises funds for research into childhood brainstem cancers.
Hundred4Harper was founded by Helena and Lee Dowdall, whose three-year-old daughter Harper lost her life to brain cancer.
Mr Dowdall said no one expected the charity auction to achieve such a massive result.
“What began as a simple gesture quickly became something far more powerful, highlighting the impact of community and locally-driven initiatives,” Mr Dowdall said.
“The owners of one of the area’s most beautiful beachfront homes bid $65,000, leaving everyone involved blown away.
“The home became known as ‘Harper House’, honouring Harper Dowdall.”
Witheriff Group Director Nick Witheriff said ‘Harper House’ was a very special property to represent and the $5 million result was a fitting conclusion to the campaign.
“Being able to support Hundred4Harper through the sale of this home was incredibly meaningful. What started with a generous $65,000 charity auction bid became a wonderful example of what can happen when a community rallies behind an important cause,” Mr Witheriff said.
“It was a privilege to be involved and to play a small part in supporting the work Hundred4Harper is doing to help fund research into childhood brainstem cancers.
“I’m proud that the property’s story has helped shine a light on Hundred4Harper and the important research it supports.”
The home, designed by celebrated architect Paul Uhlmann, was inspired by the 1970s Gold Coast beach house aesthetic and offers laid back luxury and seamless indoor and outdoor living.
